Many SBCs and thermal solutions are not designed to withstand high vibration or shock. When installed in vehicles, such as on buses to facilitate navigation or transportation, these solutions require high vibration resistance. Therefore, Advantech performs vibration tests to ensure that all products operate smoothly and reliably in any operating environment.
Design Validation for Vibration
Advantech performs random operating vibration tests that comply with the IEC60068-2-64 environment testing and MIL-STD-202G military standard certifications. The IEC60068-2-64 random vibration test simulates the vibration of an actual transport environment and is substantially more complex than simply assessing a long interval of constant-frequency, constant-amplitude, low-level shocks. The MIL-STD-202G, Method 214A, certification tests the ability of electronic and electrical components to withstand the dynamic stress of random vibrations between the upper and lower frequency limits to simulate the intense vibration encountered in various service field environments. Testing is performed using Advantech’s in-house vibration simulator, which can perform random vibration tests on the X, Y, and Z axes to identify potential product defects in advance and ensure boards can reliably withstand transport.
