Industrial Fieldbus Gateways

Our industrial fieldbus gateways provide seamless communication between fieldbus and industrial Ethernet devices as well as support for different protocols. Designed for reliable protocol extensibility and seamless integration with existing network devices, they offer a viable solution for efficiently converting data from devices that use different protocols, thus reducing the need to make expensive device purchases and minimizing the risk of software programming errors. With the addition of these protocol gateway devices into existing network infrastructures, customers can build a seamless data path between otherwise incompatible network devices and extend their useful life without a heavy price tag or need for a major upgrade.

  • Modbus Gateways

Fully compliant with Modbus/TCP, the Modbus Advantech’s Modbus gateways offer a convenient solution for connecting devices or controllers running the Modbus serial protocol (Modbus/ASCII or Modbus/RTU) to an Ethernet network. Featuring built-in Ethernet switches, Advantech’s Modbus gateways provide transparent connectivity from Modbus/ASCII and Modbus/RTU serial devices to Ethernet-based Modbus/TCP equipment. They have flexible installation options and meet web browser configuration requirements for remote monitoring applications. Our Modbus gateway products provide a simple and cost-effective means to incorporate the advantages of remote management of and data accessibility to devices that otherwise cannot connect to a network, with easy conversion of Modbus/ASCII and Modbus/RTU to Modbus/TCP. Furthermore, for the EKI-1221D/1222D, cascading connections support Ethernet auto-bypass, thus preventing accidental power failure in the event of a Modbus gateway unexpectedly shutting down.

    • EKI-1221

The EKI-1200 series Modbus gateways are bi-directional gateways for integrating new and existing Modbus/RTU and Modbus/ASCII serial devices to newer TCP/IP networked-based devices. The EKI-1221/1222/1224 feature two independent Ethernet ports and MAC addresses to provide a redundant networking mechanism to guarantee Ethernet networking reliability. They provide a simple and cost-effective way to bring the advantage of remote management and data accessibility to thousand of devices that can not connect to a network. The EKI-1221/1222/1224 provide a feature that can allow users to select master or slave operation mode for each serial port. They not only allow an Ethernet master to control serial slaves, but also allow serial masters to control Ethernet slaves.
