Advantech Launches New SuperSpeed USB 3.0 DAQ Module for Sound and Vibration Measurement

Advantech, a leading industrial computing platform provider, is pleased to announce the release of its new USB-5801 DAQ module with SuperSpeed USB 3.0 capabilities. Advantech’s USB-5801 is a high-accuracy dynamic signal acquisition USB 3.0 module specifically designed for acoustic and vibration measurements. It provides four simultaneously sampled, 24-bit, IEPE sensor inputs with up to 192 kilo samples per second (kS/s) sample rate for high resolution measurements. It is also equipped with two 24-bit analog outputs with up to 192 kS/s update rate. In addition, it has two tachometer inputs whose data can be correlated to sensor data. USB-5801 is aimed at diverse industrial control applications that require easy-to-install portable digital I/O capabilities, particularly for systems without PCI/PCIe slots. Featuring SuperSpeed USB 3.0 capabilities, USB-5801 provides high data transfer speeds (up to 5 Gbps) and supports daisy chaining for flexible I/O expansion. Furthermore, to ensure easy deployment and integration with existing systems, USB-5800 series modules support numerous development tools, including C#, C++, LabVIEW, VB.Net, MFC, BCB, VB6, Java, Delphi, and Qt, and are compatible with Windows XP/7/8/10 and Linux operating systems.

Audio Quality Testing Applications

Audio quality testing has been widely used in quality inspection of electronic products such as cellphone, earphone, speaker, and microphone. The sound must be checked as part of quality assurance during production. The testing process usually begins with sending a simulated signal (mostly Sine waves 100 ~ 10K Hz) to the tested product, and then using microphones to measure the sound output from the product. The acquired acoustic signals will also be converted for analysis in several different criteria like distortion, signal-to-noise ratio, frequency response and more to guarantee overall quality. Accordingly, to ensure a reliable and accurate audio quality test result, it’s crucial to choose the right DAQ modules.

USB-5801 audio quality testing features:

Vibration Measurement Applications
