Advantech Showcases Open and AI-Powered Industrial Automation for Connected Industrial Ecosystems at SPS 2025

Advantech (TWSE: 2395), a global leader in IoT intelligent systems and embedded platforms, today announced its participation at SPS 2025 in Nuremberg, Germany. Under the corporate vision “Enabling an intelligent planet,” Advantech will introduce a new strategic direction centered on open architecture, software-defined automation control, scalable Edge AI, and WISE-Edge Developer Architecture for Edge Orchestration. Through its expanded AMAX open control solutions, AI-enabled AMR intelligence, zero-defect vision inspection systems, and brownfield modernization offerings, Advantech will demonstrate how it is accelerating IT/OT convergence, supporting emerging European CRA cybersecurity requirements, and enabling an open and resilient industrial ecosystem.

Visitors to Hall 7, Booth 380 will explore three flagship innovation pillars that define Advantech’s direction for modern industrial digitalization:

1. AMAX Open Control Platforms for Software-Defined Automation : Advantech will unveil its expanded AMAX IoT Control Platforms, built to overcome the scaling limitations of traditional PLC and IPC systems as vision, motion, and sensing workloads intensify. AMAX delivers deterministic, high-bandwidth data handling through multi-1 GbE interfaces, PCIe expansion, and native support for EtherCAT, PROFINET, and EtherNet/IP, enabling real-time coordination across vision, motion, analytics, and sensor networks.

Based on an open industrial PC architecture, AMAX supports soft PLCs, real-time operating systems, and virtualized controllers on a unified platform—providing flexibility while aligning with emerging European cybersecurity and CRA requirements. Its modular design also enables rapid tailored solutions within 4–6 weeks, giving machine builders an open, scalable, and vendor-agnostic foundation for software-defined automation control.

2. Edge AI for AMRs and Intelligent Operations : Advantech will present advanced AMR intelligence based on the NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin platform. Demonstrations will highlight 360° perception, multi-sensor fusion, and next-generation edge inference for safer navigation and optimized production flows, enabling AMRs to transition from pilot trials to large-scale industrial deployment.

3. Vision Intelligence for Zero-Defect Manufacturing : To meet increasing demands for precision and traceability, Advantech will demonstrate vision-based inspection and traceability systems that integrate high-speed cameras, Edge AI, and industrial I/O.
