Introduction

The ICR-1745 is a compact and cost-effective industrial 5G connectivity gateway designed to provide reliable wireless communication for distributed and remote deployments. Built on future-proof 5G NR technology, it delivers low latency and stable data transmission for applications where real-time connectivity and operational continuity matter.

With five Gigabit Ethernet ports, digital I/O, and serial interfaces, the ICR-1745 easily connects both IP devices and legacy equipment to modern 5G networks. Integrated VPN support, connection monitoring, and automatic recovery mechanisms help ensure secure and resilient operation, even in unattended or harsh environments. 

Its flexible system-on-module design, combined with the open Linux-based ICR-OS platform, allows customization through scripts, C/C++, or downloadable RouterApps to extend standard firmware functionality. The router is also easy to manage at scale via WebAccess/DMP, a cloudbased platform for device management, provisioning, and monitoring – making it ideal for mass deployment, remote management, and secure VPN access.

The router’s VPN support, continuous connection monitoring, automatic recovery mechanisms, and hardware watchdog protect connected devices and minimize downtime. Centralized device management, provisioning, and monitoring via WebAccess/DMP allow IT teams to efficiently oversee multiple routers and respond quickly to network events.

Use Scenario

A factory or industrial facility deploys the ICR-1745 to connect mission-critical machines to both the primary corporate network and a backup 5G connection. The router is configured with VPN tunnels to ensure secure communication between the machines and central systems. Using WebAccess/DMP, the IT team centrally monitors device status, manages configurations, and receives alerts in case of connectivity issues. If the primary connection fails, the ICR-1745 automatically switches to the backup link, ensuring continuous operation and minimizing the risk of unplanned downtime.
