Advantech Partners with Basler to Propel Physical AI by GMSL Vison Systems

20.04.2026

Integrated ace 2 GMSL cameras and robotics controllers powered by NVIDIA® Jetson Orin™ deliver high-performance, low-latency vision for next-generation robotics.

Taipei, Taiwan, April, 20, 2026 - Advantech (TWSE: 2395), a global leader in AIoT and Edge Computing, today announced a strategic partnership with Basler AG, a leading provider of machine vision solutions. Together, the two companies deliver a highly integrated GMSL-based vision and robotics computing platform, combining Basler’s latest ace 2 GMSL industrial cameras with Advantech’s specialized robotic controllers and AI systems powered by NVIDIA® Jetson™ platforms. This collaboration enables robotics developers and system integrators to rapidly deploy scalable, multi-camera vision systems with deterministic latency, high bandwidth, and seamless AI inference—addressing the growing demands of physical AI, humanoid robotics, autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), and intelligent logistics.

Tightly Integrated GMSL Vision and Robotics Computing

At the core of the solution is Basler’s ace 2 GMSL camera, designed for embedded and robotics applications requiring long cable reach and robust connectivity. Leveraging Gigabit Multimedia Serial Link (GMSL™) technology, the ace 2 GMSL camera provides high-resolution image capture, low latency transmission, and single-cable power and data delivery—ideal for complex robotic systems with distributed sensors. Advantech integrates the ace 2 GMSL camera into the following robotics-optimized computing platforms that come with native up to 8 native FAKRA connectors for GMSL cameras:

  • ASR-A701 – Commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) carrier board with NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin™
  • AFE-R750 – AI robotics system with NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin
Advantech’s Robotic Suite combines NVIDIA® CUDA®, NVIDIA TensorRT™, and NVIDIA Isaac™ software stacks, plus Autoware, ROS2, and other open-source toolkits and sample codes. With Basler‘s ace 2 GMSL drivers integrated on Advantech platforms, customers benefit from plug-and-play camera integration and robotics software development resources, significantly reducing system bring-up time and engineering complexity.

One‑Click Installation and Long-Term BSP Support

At the center of Advantech’s vision strategy is the One‑Click Installation Package, which transforms camera integration from a complex engineering task into a simple, streamlined experience. GMSL camera drivers are included and maintained in Advantech Robotic Suite—a complementary software package consisting of open-source toolkits like ROS2 and Autoware, optimized AI inferencing SDKs, and sample codes for robotic applications. Moreover, developers can directly subscribe to camera data from the corresponding ROS Node in Advantech Robotic Suite.

Accelerating Time to Market with a Proven Ecosystem

The collaboration reflects Advantech’s ongoing commitment to building a partner-driven robotics and AI ecosystem, delivering:

  • Pre-validated hardware and software integration
  • Reduced system risk and faster deployment
  • Long-term product availability and industrial reliability

“Robotic perception is a cornerstone of physical AI,” said Stephen Liu, Business Development Manager of Embedded IoT Group at Advantech. “By partnering with Basler, we deliver a fully validated GMSL vision and computing platform that allows developers to move faster—from prototyping to production.”
“Advantech’s robotics platforms provide an ideal foundation for our ace 2 GMSL cameras,” said Dr. Melanie Gräsel, Product Manager at Basler at Basler AG. “Together, we offer customers a complete, reliable, and scalable solution for building advanced embedded vision and AI-powered robotics.”

Empowering Physical AI and Robotics Applications

The Advantech–Basler solution is designed to support a wide range of demanding robotics and embedded vision use cases, including:

  • Humanoid and service robots requiring synchronized multi-camera perception
  • Autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) and AGVs for logistics and smart factories
  • Robotic arms and machine automation with AI-based inspection and guidance
  • Edge AI vision systems for industrial and outdoor environments
With Basler’s GenICam-compliant cameras and Advantech’s industrial-grade hardware, the integrated solution delivers a unified hardware–software pipeline for AI vision, perception, and autonomy.
