Advantech and Qualcomm Strengthen Strategic Collaboration to Revolutionize Edge AI and Robotics Applications
9/03/2026
Taipei, Taiwan, March – Advantech (TWSE: 2395), a global leader in AIoT and Edge Computing, is proud to announce a deepened strategic collaboration with Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., as both companies extend their close working relationship from the Qualcomm Dragonwing™ IQ9 Series to the newly announced Dragonwing™ IQ10 Series. The companies aim to speed time to market for scalable, power efficient edge AI solutions across industrial robotics and emerging vision language model (VLM) workloads—building on a year of momentum that has already delivered commercial systems, developer toolchains, and a growing ecosystem at the edge.
Advantech’s IQ9-Based Products and Focus Markets
In 2025, Advantech introduced Qualcomm Dragonwing IQ9-powered edge AI systems—such as the AIR-055 compact system, ASR-A503 and AFE-A503 robotic controller, and AOM-6741 UAV Module, built in the industry-standard SMARC (Smart Mobility ARChitecture) form factor— leveraging up to 100 TOPS of AI performance for applications ranging from LLM/VLM inference and multi camera vision to real time machine decision making. These products target high demand use cases in smart manufacturing, robotics, healthcare, and intelligent transportation, and are supported with long lifecycle industrial reliability. To reduce development friction, Advantech has also aligned with Qualcomm Technologies’ enablement platforms—integrating Edge Impulse tools and Advantech’s EdgeAI‑ SDK to deliver a no/lowcode experience, faster prototyping, and a rich model zoo for edge deployment.
Advantech are also developing a IQ9‑based robotics reference design featuring a developer‑friendly development software, Robotics Suite, that integrates Qualcomm Technologies’ Robotics SDK with Ubutu OS and ROS 2, enabling rapid customization for diverse commercial robot form factors. Powered by Dragonwing IQ9’s high single‑thread performance optimized for real‑time motion control, the platform helps customers significantly reduce time‑to‑market for advanced robotics applications.

Pushing Boundaries with Dragonwing IQ10: Robotics and VLM
Looking forward, Advantech is introducing Robotic/Humanoid board ASR-A703 and AI-on-module solutions based on the Dragonwing IQ10 Series. Advantech will expand into advanced industrial AMRs, collaborative robots, and full‑size humanoids, while scaling VLM/VLA workloads for perception‑to‑action pipelines at the edge. Planned product form factors include embedded modules, AI function boards, compact edge systems, and robotic controllers, alongside smart panels and AI cameras— providing flexible performance profiles with consistent software and tools across SKUs.
"Advantech is committed to being the premier partner for Edge Computing and AI," said Miller Chang, President of Embedded Sector at Advantech. "The transition from IQ9 to IQ10 within Qualcomm’s Dragonwing roadmap allows us to offer our customers unprecedented performance-per-watt and AI performance. We are not just providing hardware; we are providing the heartbeat of future robotics and VLM-powered industrial applications."
“Advantech has played an important role as we’ve worked to translate our edge AI and robotics vision into real, deployable systems,” said Nakul Duggal, EVP and Group GM, Automotive, Industrial and Embedded IoT and Robotics, Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. “Our work together on Dragonwing IQ9 established strong momentum, and with Dragonwing IQ10 we’re extending that progress—enabling more advanced robotics and vision‑language workloads at the edge, with a scalable platform developers and customers can confidently build on.”
Next-Generation Performance and Software Integration
The Dragonwing IQ10 Series offers significant upgrades over the IQ9, delivers a major generational leap with up to 700 TOPS of AI compute powered by an 18-core Qualcomm Oryon CPU, dedicated Hexagon NPU, and integrated Adreno GPU, enabling complex vision-language and autonomous workloads at the edge. To support this hardware advance, Advantech offers a rich software stack aligned with Qualcomm Technologies’ robotics ecosystem, with optimized SDKs for real-time edge processing and seamless integration with leading robotics frameworks—helping developers move from prototype to deployment with minimal friction.
Advantech will be showcasing its full range of Dragonwing Q6, IQ-X, IQ-9-based solutions and live demonstrations at Embedded World 2026 (Hall 3, Booth 339). We invite industry partners, developers, and media representatives to join us and witness firsthand how the synergy between Advantech and Qualcomm Technologies is reshaping the industrial landscape.
