Advantech and StereoLabs Collaborate to Deliver Proven GMSL Stereo Vision Platforms for Physical AI and Robotics

07/07/2026

Taipei, Taiwan, July 7, 2026 - Advantech, a global leader in AIoT and Edge Computing, today announced an expanded collaboration with StereoLabs to accelerate high-performance perception for Physical AI and robotics applications. Through this collaboration, Advantech’s robotics platforms—including AFE-A702 and ASR-A702 powered by NVIDIA Jetson Thor, as well as AFE-R750 and ASR-A701 powered by NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin and NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX —provide full support for StereoLabs ZED X GMSL stereo cameras, delivering a scalable and production-ready vision-and-compute solution. Robotics developers can also purchase ZED cameras together with Advantech edge computers, benefiting from a convenient one-stop solution for integrated systems.

As autonomous systems transition from pilot projects to scaled deployment, perception accuracy, system robustness, and platform scalability are becoming essential. By combining StereoLabs’ industry-leading ZED stereo vision technology with Advantech’s robotics-grade edge computing portfolio across multiple NVIDIA platforms, customers gain a consistent development and deployment experience from entry-level to high-end Physical AI systems.

ZED Stereo Vision: High-Accuracy Depth, Ultra-Low Latency and Real-World Robustness

Stereolabs ZED cameras are a leading 3D vision solution for robotics and Physical AI, combining low-latency processing, dense point cloud generation, high-precision all-range depth perception. Leveraging passive stereo vision, ZED cameras deliver robust indoor and outdoor performance under dynamic lighting conditions, making them an ideal choice for AMRs, industrial robotics, heavy-duty autonomous vehicles, and next-generation Physical AI systems.

The ZED GMSL camera family further enhances system reliability with long cable reach, high bandwidth, low latency, and strong noise immunity. These capabilities support flexible sensor placement and synchronized multi-camera configurations, which are increasingly critical for real-world robotics deployments.

Bundled Advantech-ZED Solutions and Support Across NVIDIA Jetson Thor, NVIDIA AGX Orin, and NVIDIA Orin NX

Advantech’s robotics platforms are purpose-built to support StereoLabs ZED GMSL cameras across NVIDIA Jetson Thor, NVIDIA AGX Orin, and NVIDIA Orin NX to run open models and agentic AI workflows, providing native GMSL connectivity, high-speed I/O, and sufficient AI compute to run demanding perception workloads such as depth estimation, SLAM, obstacle avoidance, and sensor fusion in real time.

Platforms including AFE-A702, ASR-A702, AFE-R750, and ASR-A701 are available as both COTS carrier boards and fully integrated systems, allowing robotics OEMs and system integrators to standardize on ZED cameras while scaling compute performance across different robot models and use cases. ZED cameras are also available through Advantech’s regional offices worldwide.

Proven Global Deployments at Scale

Beyond technical integration, the Advantech–StereoLabs solution has been validated through multiple real-world deployments across regions worldwide. Joint solutions are already supporting AMRs, outdoor autonomous platforms, logistics robots, and intelligent machines operating in demanding industrial and infrastructure environments.

These global deployments demonstrate the reliability, scalability, and production readiness of the combined solution—helping customers reduce integration risk and accelerate time-to-market for Physical AI systems.

Accelerated Development with Advantech Robotic Suite

Advantech further streamlines development with its Robotic Suite —a free, open-source, WEDA-supported SDK built on Ubuntu. Robotic Suite provides out-of-the-box support for ZED cameras, along with ROS / ROS 2 integration, middleware, and AI frameworks, enabling faster bring-up, validation, and fleet-scale deployment.

By offering StereoLabs ZED X GMSL cameras as part of a tightly integrated compute-and-vision platform, Advantech simplifies system design, procurement, and lifecycle management for robotics developers.

Driving the Next Wave of Physical AI

“Reliable perception is a cornerstone of Physical AI, especially as robots move into complex real-world environments,” said Stephen Liu, Head of Robotics Business at Advantech. “By supporting StereoLabs ZED X GMSL cameras across our robotics platforms powered by NVIDIA Jetson Thor, AGX Orin, and Orin NX , we enable customers to standardize vision while scaling compute—and these solutions are already proven through global deployments.”
“The future of robotics depends on tightly integrated hardware and software ecosystems," said Ihsane Debbache, VP of Engineering at StereoLabs. "By working closely with Advantech, we are delivering a validated GMSL vision platform that simplifies development and provides the performance, reliability, and scalability required for real-world Physical AI applications.”
