Background
When facing a pressing need to migrate from legacy fixed wire copper PSTN infrastructure, migration to a secure, scalable and reliable solution necessitated the move to adopt a 4G cellular communications architecture. The choice of Advantech’s 4G Industrialised cellular router provided the smooth migration path to achieve fixed line replacement and the enablement for future services
System Requirements
Customer needed to move form a soon to be end of life legacy copper wire POTS network connection. An acceptable replacement required that existing communication services be maintained and/or improved with the capability of adding additional services over the previous architecture.
System Description
The solution involved using Advantech’s proven industrial cellular router to provide a wireless communications backbone from a diverse set of traffic systems locations to a centralised communications room.
