Advantech ASR-A503 and AFE-A503 Powered by Qualcomm Dragonwing™ IQ-9075M Integrate AI, Vision, and Robot Control
2026-08-05
Powered by the Qualcomm Dragonwing™ IQ-9075M, Advantech’s unified robotics platform delivers efficient AI inference, multi-camera vision, robot-ready I/O, and flexible deployment for AMRs, humanoids, and service robots.
Taipei, Taiwan, August 5, 2026 - Advantech, a global leader in AIoT and Edge Computing, introduced the ASR-A503 robot controller single-board computer and AFE-A503 industrial robot controller, both powered by the Qualcomm Dragonwing™ IQ-9075M processor.
Designed for next-generation robotics, the two platforms provide a unified architecture for AI inference, vision processing, navigation, control, and robot-facing connectivity.
While TOPS remains an important AI performance indicator, production-ready robotics also depends on performance per watt, camera integration, I/O availability, thermal design, memory capacity, and deployment readiness. Advantech developed the ASR-A503 and AFE-A503 to address these system-level requirements rather than focusing on peak AI performance alone.
One Architecture for Complete Robotics Workloads
Robotic systems must simultaneously handle three major workload types:
- Perception: Camera input, AI inference, LiDAR and IMU processing, and sensor fusion
- Planning: Localization, navigation, path updates, and application logic
- Control: Predictable communication across CAN FD, digital I/O, Ethernet, USB, and serial interfaces
The Dragonwing IQ-9075M distributes these workloads across CPU, GPU, NPU, and integrated vision-processing resources, allowing developers to consolidate perception, planning, and control on one heterogeneous computing platform.
ASR-A503: Flexible Board-Level Integration
The ASR-A503 is designed for developers building customized robotic systems. It delivers up to 100 dense TOPS and 200 sparse TOPS for on-device AI and vision workloads.
The board supports GbE, USB, CAN FD, digital I/O, serial interfaces, M.2 expansion, and optional GMSL connectivity, helping developers integrate cameras, sensors, motors, and peripherals within a compact robot design.

AFE-A503: Industrial System for Faster Deployment
The AFE-A503 extends the same architecture into a fully integrated industrial edge AI controller. Designed for AMRs and production robotics, it combines computing, enclosure, power input, isolated interfaces, thermal design, and system connectivity in a deployment-ready platform. This helps reduce integration effort and accelerate the transition from development to field deployment.

Designed for Power-Efficient Robotics
For battery-powered robots, performance must be evaluated together with system power, heat generation, cooling requirements, battery capacity, and operating time.
The Dragonwing IQ-9075M architecture provides efficient AI and vision processing for continuous perception workloads, helping reduce thermal and power demands while maintaining the compute resources required for navigation and control.
Key capabilities include:
- Support for up to 8 camera inputs through GMSL and MIPI-CSI
- AI, vision, planning, and control on one SoC
- Isolated CAN FD and 16-bit digital I/O
- Four GbE ports with PoE capability
- 20 to 36 VDC power input
- ECC memory, TPM 2.0, ESD and surge protection
- Wide-temperature operation from -40 to 85°C
Both products also support the Advantech Robotic Suite, providing developers with a ready-to-use software environment for robotics application development.
A Unified Platform from Design to Deployment
The ASR-A503 supports flexible board-level integration for customized robot designs, while the AFE-A503 provides an industrial controller for faster deployment.
Together, they give robotics developers a common Dragonwing IQ-9075M platform for AI inference, multi-camera vision, planning, control, and industrial connectivity—helping teams move efficiently from prototype to production.
