Advantech Expands SPC-600 Series with IECEx-, ATEX-, and C1D2-Certified Touch Panel PCs for Hazardous Environments

Building on the SPC-618WE RPL, which was the first model in the series to obtain IECEx/ATEX Zone 2/22 and Class I, Division 2 (C1D2) certifications, the new models extend the same certification framework to more compact and cost-effective form factors. Designed for oil and gas, chemical, pharmaceutical, and other hazardous industrial environments, the SPC-612E and SPC-615E touch panel PCs combine certified protection, impact-resistant high-brightness LCD displays exceeding 1,000 nits, and flexible computing options. With 12-inch, 15-inch, and 18.5-inch models, the expanded portfolio enables customers to select the right combination of computing performance, display size, and cost for diverse HMI and monitoring requirements.

The SPC-618WE RPL serves as the high-performance model in the series, featuring a 13th Gen Intel® Core™ i7-1365URE 10-core processor and up to 32 GB of DDR5 memory. This configuration delivers faster processing and improved system responsiveness for HMI monitoring and industrial data processing. Powered by an Intel® Core™ i3-N305 processor with16 GB of DDR5 memory, the SPC-612E and SPC-615E provide a cost-effective platform for standard HMI, visualization, and monitoring tasks where compact installation and a lower total cost of ownership are key priorities.

The SPC-612E and SPC-615E are certified for IECEx/ATEX Zone 2/22 and Class I, Division 2 environments, aligning with the certification framework of the SPC-618WE RPL. Both models feature an Ex-rated tempered-glass projected capacitive (PCAP) touchscreen engineered to withstand rigorous impact testing, a high-brightness LCD exceeding 1,000 nits, and an IP66-rated front panel for protection against dust and water ingress. The SPC-618WE RPL supports operating temperatures from -20 to 60°C, while the SPC-612E and SPC-615E operate from -10 to 60°C, enabling reliable performance across a wide range of industrial conditions.

The SPC-600 Series supports deployment across major hazardous-area markets through IECEx, ATEX, and C1D2 certification options. With 12-inch, 15-inch, and 18.5-inch display sizes, customers can choose the form factor best suited to compact equipment panels, process control stations, and larger operator interfaces while maintaining consistent safety, usability, and industrial reliability across the portfolio.

By extending the certified design of the SPC-618WE RPL to the more compact SPC-612E and SPC-615E, Advantech provides system integrators and industrial operators with greater flexibility to upgrade HMI and monitoring systems in hazardous environments.
