Our client is a globally recognized manufacturer of gaming machines, specializing in the development and production of both hardware and software for commercial gaming. Their product lineup includes slot machines, multiplayer machines, fishing games, and electronic table games. Additionally, they offer casino management software, including member management systems.
The client faced challenges with their previous commercial computers, with products often having their lifecycles ended within two or three years of purchase. This led to significant operational disruptions, such as unexpected downtimes and maintenance costs to install and optimize new machines. To address these issues, they required industrial-grade computers with stable quality and greater longevity, ensuring that even if repairs or replacements were needed, they wouldn't have to worry about a lack of service or support in the short term.
To meet the client’s needs, Advantech proposed the integration of the UPOS-M15 monitor paired with the ARK-1123 embedded computer. The UPOS-M15 is a 15-inch 4:3 monitor with a P-CAP touchscreen, designed with reserved space on the right, left side, and top hatch for operational peripherals, making it adaptable for various applications. This robust computing system was implemented as the member management system at each gaming table. Players use stored-value cards or membership cards to place bets, and the system features a Magnetic Stripe Reader (MSR) installed on the monitor. This setup allows dealers to swipe cards, identify players, and verify their stored balances. The data is then transmitted to the computer system, where the member management system confirms and processes the information.
By implementing the UPOS-M15 and ARK-1123, the client improved the reliability of their gaming systems and enhanced the player experience by reducing downtimes and keeping their experience consistent. With a durable solution, they can now manage operations confidently, ensuring a smooth experience for customers worldwide.
