EKI-1514は2つの独立したイーサネットポートとMACアドレスが特徴で、イーサネットネットワーキングの信頼性を保証するために冗長化ネットワークメカニズムを提供します。EKI-1524はTCP/IPネットワークへのCNC、PLC、スケール、スキャナなどといった、4ポートRS-232/422/485デバイスで接続する、ネットワークベースのシリアルデバイスサーバです。一度EKI-1524デバイスサーバを通して接続すると、あなたのシリアルデバイスは他のネットワークデバイスのような、ネットワークに関するデータを送受信できるようになります。EKI-1524は、ネットワークに接続できない何千ものデバイスの遠隔管理ができ、データアクセスがしやすいという特長で、速くて、シンプルで、費用効果の高い方法を提供します。EKIシリーズのデバイスサーバは、COMポートリダイレクション(バーチャルCOMポート)、TCPサーバクライアント、UDPモードといった、様々なオペレーションを提供します。アドバンテックのリダイレクションソフトウェアをインストールすれば、標準シリアルオペレーションコールがEKIシリーズに透過的にリダイレクトされ、古いシリアルデバイスとの互換性を保証し、既存のソフトウェアとの下位互換性を可能にします。EKI-1524はシリアルトンネリングもサポートし、ネットワークを通じて2つのシリアルデバイスを通信させます。
