Advantech Utilizes Intel® Xeon® Ice Lake SP CPUs to Accelerate AI Installation

Advantech recently began introducing Gold and Silver series Intel® Xeon® Ice Lake scalable processors with integrated AI/crypto acceleration and advanced security capabilities. With up to 40 x Sunny Cove cores per processor, the Ice Lake-SP platform offers 8 x channels of DDR4-3200 memory and up to 64 x lanes of PCIe Gen 4 respectively per socket. This compares favorably to the 6 x channels of DDR4-2933 and 48 x lanes of PCI Gen 3 per socket provided by previous generation solutions.
In addition, Intel®’s Ice Lake-SP delivers a 1.46 fold increase in performance compared to first generation solutions. It further provides a 1.56 fold improvement in AI inference — augmenting image classification using Intel® Deep Learning Boost. These IoT SKUs feature long-life availability for customers with extended procurement or certification cycles.
