Taipei, Taiwan, June 29, 2022 – Advantech, a leading provider of industrial computing platforms, is pleased to announce TPC-100W – the latest generation of its ARM-based industrial panel PCs aimed at machine automation and web terminal applications.


Available with four display sizes (7”, 10.1”, 15.6” and 21.5”) to ensure convenient deployment in a range of factories, TPC-100W panel PCs are powered by an NXP® ARM® Cortex®-A53 quad-core processor that supports Linux Yocto and Android operating systems. In addition to a true-flat front panel with P-CAP multi-touch control, the TPC-100W series features a serial port equipped ”with a 120Ω termination resistor that supports the CAN 2.0 protocol and offers a programmable bit rate of up to 1 Mb/sec. The provision of wireless communication technologies, including Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, via a mini PCIe interface, simplifies networking and ensures real-time connectivity for data transmissions. However, to eliminate the need for power infrastructure, TPC-100W series PCs are also equipped with Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) functionality. Support for both VESA and panel mounting allows for flexible and convenient installation according to usage requirements. Overall, TPC-100W panel PCs are among the most competitively priced rugged industrial panel PCs currently available on the market and provide the ideal solution for visualization, remote access, and machine control.

High-Performance Rugged Design for Industrial Applications

Aimed at the industrial market, Advantech’s TPC-100W series offerings are rugged yet compact, fanless panel PCs equipped with an ARM® Cortex®-A53 i.MX 8M Mini quad-core (1.6 GHz) processor, 2 GB DDR4 RAM, and 16 GB of eMMC storage to provide high-performance computing and increased efficiency for top-tier applications. To ensure reliable operation in harsh industrial environments, TPC-100W devices support a wide operating temperature range (-20 ~ 60 °C/-4 ~ 140 °F) and are IP66 rated for protection from dust, oil, and water ingress. With their versatility and easy intuitive operation, TPC-100W panel PCs provide stable and reliable solutions for machine operation and data management tasks.

Embedded Web Browser for Rapid Application Development

To ensure easy deployment and application development, TPC-100W supports various OS, including Android 10 and Linux Yocto 3.3 with GUI toolkits, Qt WebBrowser, and OPC UA, eliminating software porting and facilitating application development. Moreover, TPC-100W installed with Android OS supports the Chromium Embedded Framework (CEF), which is an open-source software framework for embedding a Chromium web browser within another application. This enables developers to add web browsing functionality to applications and to use HTML, CSS, and/or JavaScript to create the user interface, simplifying programming and accelerating development.

Factory Connectivity for Web-Based Management

To ensure connectivity for web-based management, TPC-100W provides Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, communication capabilities via a mini PCIe interface. The inclusion of a LAN port that offers speeds of up to 1000 Mbps (10/100/1000 Mbps) accelerates data transfer rates. Meanwhile, comprehensive network connectivity allows TPC-100W to be used for real-time data visualization in order to optimize production operations. Furthermore, with support for optional PoE functionality, TPC-100W panel PCs can be deployed as single-cable solutions in difficult environments, eliminating infrastructure requirements and enabling remote management and control for diverse IoT applications.
