  This is not actually a specific card, but rather a mode in which many cards can
  be run. When a driver is set to promiscuous mode, it enables that particular
  driver to accept/read anything and everything that is passed along the line.
  This is regardless of frame type, packet size, and so forth It works in the
  same way that a Lanalyzer works, and is totally different from the concept of
  binding a lan card to multiple protocols (normally a NIC will notify the
  software only if it receives a broadcast, or packet, with its node address).
  
  A board does not need, require, or even benefit from a promiscuous mode in a
  multi-protocol environment. The items that the board will be looking for are at
  the physical layer of the OSI model and are not protocol dependant.
  
  Novell requires ODI drivers to support promiscuous mode.

  How to test Promiscuous Mode?
  You can test the mode under NT Server.
  "Start" -> "Setting" -> "Control Panel" -> "Network" -> "Service"
  You must add "Monitor Network Tool and Agent" on service of network panel. When
  you run "Network monitor" --> "Tool" --> "Performance Monitor", the performance
  monitor will automatically put your card into promiscous mode.
