Intelligent Railway Safety Solution

Background

In recent years, with the rapid development of high-speed rail technology in terms of speed and intelligence, the requirements for train self-fault monitoring, obstacle detection, and auxiliary driving functions have been increasing, which poses a great challenge to computer data processing and AI algorithms. A customer from a railway section in East China sought a system solution that integrates pantograph monitoring and auxiliary driving system to realize intelligent train management.

The Challenge

Pantograph monitoring and driver assistance system integration pose several major challenges such as: technology integration challenges, data processing and algorithm complexity, safety concerns and system reliability.

The Solution

Advantech introduced intelligent converged solutions, mainly including the following hardware systems:

Advantages

The 21-slot, 19-inch, compact 3U case integrates three system computing units, and with a customized backplane, the system can also accommodate customer-developed input/output (I/O) cards. These three computing units connect to the switching board via the backplane’s Gigabit Ethernet network.
