Advantech Now Supports Intel® Bartlett Lake-S P-core Only Processors for Industrial Edge Computing
2026-07-14
TAIPEI, Taiwan – July 14, 2026 – Advantech (TWSE: 2395), a global leader in intelligent systems and industrial IoT, announced support for Intel® Bartlett Lake-S P-core only processors across its industrial motherboards, modular IPCs, and edge computing platforms. Designed with a monolithic Performance-core architecture, the platform eliminates workload allocation uncertainty often associated with hybrid CPU architectures, enabling deterministic performance for real-time control, edge computing, and virtualization applications.
Deterministic Performance for Real-Time Applications
Industrial automation systems with real-time control require consistent processing performance. Traditional hybrid architectures that combine Performance-cores (P-cores) and Efficient-cores (E-cores) may assign workloads to cores before the OS has full visibility into workload intent, which can impact system performance.
By using monolithic Performance-cores, Bartlett Lake-S P-core only processors ensure that applications, virtual machines, and legacy software run on the same high-performance core type, simplifying core allocation and reducing software-tuning complexity for real-time control, industrial automation, virtualization, and edge computing applications.
Boost Performance up to 12 P Cores with Win Server Support
Compared with 14th Gen Intel® Core™ processors, Bartlett Lake-S P-core only processors deliver up to extra 10% higher performance, while providing up to 12 P-cores (4 additional P-cores) and 24 threads, helping accelerate latency-sensitive data processing and edge computing applications.
Bartlett Lake-S P-core only processors enable the possibility of desktop-class platforms by adding Windows Server support, allowing system integrators to build edge servers and virtualized infrastructure with the performance and flexibility of the LGA1700 socket, while addressing the server OS requirements often not supported by traditional desktop CPU platforms.
Drop-In Compatibility and Extended Lifecycle
Advantech's Bartlett Lake-S solutions provide a practical upgrade option for existing edge platforms by maintaining the same LGA1700 design, while offering scalability across 125W, 65W, and 45W processor options. This backward compatibility helps customers reduce redesign efforts and extend the lifecycle for 10 years until 2035. This extended long-term support also helps customers reduce certification costs, and lower total cost of ownership over the product lifecycle.
Target Edge Applications
- Industrial automation and real-time control softPLC systems.
- Virtualized edge servers and VDI infrastructures.
