Environmental Policy
We commits to comply with several environmental standards and directives that benefits Advantech in:
- Minimizing business impact on environment
- Maintaining a competitive edge through demonstrating commitment to minimize impact on environment
- Lowering risk of financial penalties
- Improving efficiency
- Improving regulatory relations
Advantech has continued to pursue its social responsibility for global environmental preservation by committing to compliance to the European Union's policy: "Restriction on Use of Hazardous Substance in Electrical and Electronic Equipment" or "RoHS".
This directive was effective after July 1, 2006. Advantech promises to protect the environment and put our policy into practice. To comply with RoHS, Advantech intends to restrict the use of Lead (Pb), Mercury (Hg), Cadmium (Cd), Hexavalent Chromium (Cr6+), Polybrominated biphenyls (PBB), and Polybrominated diphenyl Ethers (PBDE)
Advantech promises to protect our environment and we have written that commitment into our policy. To comply with WEEE, European Union "Restrictions on Use of Hazardous Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment" or "WEEE”, our first priority is to prevent the waste of all electrical and electronic equipment through reuse, recycling and other forms of recovery. The aim is to reduce and even eliminate the disposal of waste electrical products and materials.
The WEEE directive also seeks to improve the environmental performance of all operators involved in the entire life cycle of electrical and electronic equipment, including producers, distributors and consumers, and in particular those operators directly involved in the treatment of waste electrical and electronics equipment.
We also build up a “Green Supply Chain Platform” for supply chain management to ensure that all suppliers meet the qualifications and continues working on the WEEE directive to ensure efficient customer cooperation to recover, collect and supply environmentally sound treatment of all Advantech products.
The satisfaction of all interested groups and the environments are our top priority. Advantech will work proactively with industry peers and suppliers to clarify standards and identify compatible technologies and processes to reduce "environmental impact" in its manufacturing processes and products. It will be essential for Advantech's customers to understand and be compliant with the RoHS and WEEE Directive.
