March 10, 2023, Taipei, Taiwan — Advantech, a leading global provider of intelligent IoT systems and embedded platforms, is proud to announce its collaboration with Intel® on industrial GPU cards leveraging Intel® Arc™ graphics solutions. This collaboration seeks to meet increasing market demand for GPU and vision AI performance while developing a more open AI ecosystem with varied product offerings. Comprising the Advantech VEGA-P110, a PCIe GPU card; and the Advantech VEGA-X110, a MXM Type A GPU card with Intel® ARC™ A370M GPU; this product line provides superior performance-and-price-per-watt, while empowering image processing and edge AI acceleration in medical imaging, gaming, and factory automation applications. Advantech will display this innovative GPU product line March 14-16th at Embedded World 2023 in Nuremberg, Germany.

Empower Diverse Applications via Easy Integration

Advantech’s VEGA-P110 and VEGA-X110 solutions were developed using the Intel® Arc™ A370M GPU. This GPU has eight Xe-Cores and 128 Intel Xe matrix extensions engines with H.264/H.265/AV1/VP9 encode/decode technologies. The VEGA-X110 MXM GPU card in particular provides PCIe 4.0 x8 interface, and the VEGA-P110 GPU cards provide PCIe x16 interface. When combined with an advanced thermal design, both these interfaces support integration with embedded computers, medical systems, and gaming platforms; and empower diverse applications.

Superior Video Encoding for AI and graphics Performance

The combination of Iris Xe on the system and the VEGA GPU cards deliver 60% better video encoding performance and a 2.91-fold increase in AI-enhanced video upscaling with XMX Hyper Compute acceleration enabled. In addition, both VEGA-X110 and VEGA-P110 leverage Intel Deep Link to accelerate AI and graphics computing performance while optimizing CPU and GPU workloads. These solutions also leverage Intel OpenVINO™, an open-source toolkit with 100+ pretrained models and public popular frameworks. Advantech VEGA GPU cards deliver a more open and accessible AI development environment to developers seeking to optimizes and deploy AI inference solutions.

Advantech and Intel — Another Successful Partnership

When asked to comment on this release, Miller Chang President of Embedded IoT at Advantech said, “We (Advantech) have been working closely with Intel to deliver advanced embedded graphics solutions for IoT and AI applications. The collaboration is a new milestone, and will empower a more open AI environment, while bringing Vision AI applications to next level.”

The VEGA-P110 and VEGA-X110 will be displayed at Embedded World 2023 in the Advantech booth (3-339). These solutions will be available in June 2023. For more information, please contact your regional sales team or visit www.advantech.com.
