At Booth #7018, Advantech will showcase its UniCAM, a comprehensive GMSL2 camera integration solution, running on the AFE-A702 robotic controller powered by NVIDIA Jetson Thor. The live demonstration enables robotics developers to freely combine 2D, stereo, and depth cameras from multiple manufacturers while simplifying hardware synchronization, configuration, and ROS 2 integration.
Breaking the Barriers of Multi-Brand GMSL Camera Integration
As robots and humanoids become increasingly vision-centric, real-time perception requires high-bandwidth image transmission and precise synchronization across multiple cameras. While GMSL2 has become an important interface for robotic vision, camera drivers have traditionally been developed independently by individual manufacturers, making it challenging to combine cameras from different brands within the same SerDes architecture.
Advantech developed UniCAM to address these limitations through a unified architecture that enables supported GMSL2 cameras from different vendors to operate within the same system. By centrally managing camera configurations and shared hardware resources, UniCAM reduces repetitive driver adaptation, Device Tree modifications, and low-level integration efforts while preserving each camera vendor's original image quality, SDKs, algorithms, and functionality.
Live at GTC Berlin: Five GMSL Cameras, One Unified Architecture
At Booth #7018, Advantech will demonstrate the simultaneous integration of five GMSL camera models on its NVIDIA Jetson Thor-powered AFE-A702 platform:

The demonstration highlights how developers can mix and match different vision technologies based on application requirements while leveraging NVIDIA Isaac ROS, the NVIDIA Argus camera framework, and partner SDKs for robotics perception and Physical AI development.
Beyond the demonstrated models, UniCAM's expanding camera ecosystem also includes Sensing World, with additional partners and models planned for future integration.
Intelligent Camera Integration and Scalable Robotics Development
Integrated with Advantech Robotic Suite, UniCAM automatically detects supported cameras and configures device settings, reducing manual setup and accelerating ROS 2 application development. Its scalable N Cameras × N Computing Platforms architecture enables flexible camera and computing platform selection, initially supporting NVIDIA Jetson Thor, with expansion to Jetson AGX Orin and Orin NX, and future support planned for Intel IPU7 and Qualcomm Dragonwing IQ9.
