Advantech Collaborates with Insyde Software to Advance the Edge AI Ecosystem on Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite

Taipei, Taiwan, May 2025 — Advantech, a leading provider of edge computing solutions, announced a collaboration with Insyde® Software to further advance the Edge AI ecosystem by harnessing the power of Arm-based technology on the Qualcomm Snapdragon™ X Elite platform.
Building on its success with Snapdragon Compute-powered Copilot+ AI PCs, Insyde Software brings proven expertise to meet the growing demands of industrial Edge AI applications. In collaboration with Qualcomm, Advantech is leveraging InsydeH2O®—an IoT-optimized UEFI BIOS—for the Snapdragon X Elite platform. InsydeH2O® delivers key advantages, including streamlined platform configuration, mature UEFI drivers for enhanced performance and compatibility, and a comprehensive BIOS toolset that accelerates the entire product development lifecycle. This collaboration unlocks the full potential of the platform’s processing power, energy efficiency, connectivity, and AI acceleration—enabling next-generation solutions built on Advantech’s AOM-6731 and SOM-6820 Computer-on-Modules.
The AOM-6731 and SOM-6820 are powered by 12-core Qualcomm® Oryon™ CPUs clocked up to 3.4 GHz, and feature LPDDR5X memory for faster performance with up to 20% lower power consumption compared to LPDDR5. Integrated with ultra-fast 5G and Wi-Fi 7 connectivity, these compact compute modules also deliver up to 45 TOPS of AI performance through the Qualcomm® Hexagon™ NPU. This enables enhanced AI inferencing capabilities across a wide range of industrial use cases, including intelligent surveillance, manufacturing, medical imaging, and factory automation.
