Advantech Launches THIN Mini-ITX AIMB-286 to Support 8th Generation Intel Core Processors

Advantech, a leading industrial solution provider, is pleased to announce the release of AIMB-286, which is a desktop THIN Mini-ITX industrial motherboard that supports the latest 8th Generation Intel® Core Processors, and which brings optimized performance over previous generations with up to 6 cores and Intel’s 9th generation graphics engine for the latest in video acceleration. AIMB-286 uses the Intel® H310 chipset that provides abundant I/O in a flatter, thinner design of only 25mm. Moreover, AIMB-286 comes bundled with Advantech’s value added smart software suite WISE-PaaS/RMM, which brings the benefits of cloud computing within reach of many embedded application developers. This embedded motherboard provides the ideal solution for industrial applications such as machine control and self-service machine systems that increase operation efficiency.
25mm Height THIN Mini-ITX with Abundant I/O for Machine Vision and Robotic Applications
Designed to support space-limited applications, AIMB-286 THIN Mini-ITX builds on the standard Mini-ITX form factor with only 25mm I/O height (from PCB top side), making it a good fit for integration in tight spaces. AIMB-286 offers high-performance computing, offers multiple expansion interfaces including an M.2 B key for 4G/LTE connectivity or storage, M.2 E key for WiFi connectivity. In addition, AIMB-286 supports 3 x GbE LAN, 8 x USB (4 x USB3.0 + 4 x USB2.0), and one single PCIex4 slot which allows the installation of different modular add-on cards, making it ideal for factory automation, machine vision and robotics which usually requires multiple video cameras connections for video capture, object detection, and examination like that used in quality inspection applications for factory production lines.. AIMB-286 also supports 6 x COM (COM2/3 supports RS-232/422/485 auto-flow control, COM 1 supports 5V/12V), and 16-bit digital programmable I/O, which allows connectivity for peripherals modules and for multiple I/O programming.

Advantech also developed two THIN enclosures that fit with AIMB-286 — EPC-T2000 and EPC-T3000 — to provide customers with a more complete solution. Both the EPC-T2000 and EPC-T3000 offer highly durable and reliable THIN system solutions of only 1U height (44mm) developed specifically for industrial use. They are a perfect fit for embedded applications requiring a ready-to-use slim box solution with powerful computing and high graphics capabilities. Furthermore, the EPC-T3000 allows installation of one full-height PCIe add-on card, offering flexible expansion for space-limited applications.
