These boards —the AIMB-277 and AIMB-287 (AIMB-277/287) — feature Mini-ITX and Thin Mini-ITX form factors respectively; and deliver 31% better integer multi-tasking computing capabilities to AI solutions in factory automation, medical, and self-service applications.

Excellent Performance with NvMEx4 Empowers AI Capabilities

Advantech’s AIMB-277/287 industrial motherboards deliver 10-core performance, support DDR4-2933 MHz up to 64GB, and leverage M.2 M key NVMe x4 to accommodate extremely high data rates and demanding computing-intensive applications. The AIMB-277 in particular features PCIe x16 (Gen 3) — augmenting factory automation applications that require high-speed I/O capabilities or edge medical applications that necessitate high performance graphics cards. These motherboards are excellent solutions for deep learning inference applications that need to capture, process, and analyze data quickly.

Diverse Certifications for Environmental Adaptability

Advantech’s AIMB-277/287 are IEC61000-4-2 level 4 (contact 8kV and air 15kV) certified, ensuring electrostatic protection when used in sensitive hospital and factory applications. These motherboards are further IEC 60068-2-27 certified and able to resist shock when installed in AGV, AMR, and other navigation/transportation applications. AIMB-287 supports easy integration using a 12 ~ 24VDC input.

Comprehensive Security Solution Delivers Enhanced Protection

Designing reliable and robust IoT products necessitates end-to-end security in data collection, monitoring, and process control. Advantech AIMB-277/287 ensures valid 3rd party firmware codes using UEFI secure Boot. This feature limits software applications to specified hardware, or conversely, hardware to specified software. Both boards are further equipped with TPM 2.0, an encryption IC with cryptographic keys for platform authentication. This feature provides hardware-based security and data protection from digital/physical attacks, theft, or loss while mitigating cybersecurity risks.

WISE-DeviceOn Enables Remote Control and Reduces Cost of Ownership

Advantech’s AIMB-277/287 use WISE-DeviceOn to avoid system failures through real-time hardware, software, and peripheral monitoring. WISE-DeviceOn further provides real-time alert notifications to globally distributed devices. The over-the-air (OTA) BIOS system facilitates remote BIOS updates, and provides backup recovery mechanisms that prevent unexpected interruptions and boot up failures. 

Both boards support remote USB power on/off functions that prevent unauthorized access, and re-boot the USB device without turning the power off. WISE-DeviceOn allows staff to identify and resolve issues preemptively, reducing maintenance efforts and failures, while maximizing IoT management efficiency.
