Advantech MIB Series Accelerates Robotics and Autonomous Vision with Validated GMSL Camera Support on NVIDIA Jetson Thor

26/03/2026

Advantech, a global leader in edge AI and industrial computing, today announced that its high-performance board-level MIB series powered by NVIDIA Jetson T4000, NVIDIA Jetson T5000, and NVIDIA IGX T5000 modules including MIB-741, MIB-742, and MIB-735, has been fully tested and validated for GMSL (Gigabit Multimedia Serial Link) camera integration.   This validation confirms stable, reliable GMSL camera operation across Advantech’s portfolio powered by NVIDIA Jetson Thor, enabling robotics and autonomous vision developers to deploy production-ready AI perception systems with confidence.

Proven GMSL Camera Operation for Real-World Robotics

GMSL technology is widely adopted in automotive and robotics applications for its high-bandwidth, long-distance, and low-latency camera connectivity.  Advantech’s validation confirms that MIB series systems can handle real-time image acquisition and AI processing for autonomous robots, AMRs, robotic arms, and AI inspection platforms. The testing covers hardware signal integrity, BSP and driver enablement, and continuous operation, ensuring reliable performance in real deployment environments. Developers can choose from 2D, Stereo, and 3D cameras made by the following partners:

Unified Validation Across NVIDIA Jetson Thor MIB Platforms

The MIB Series supports a wide range of NVIDIA AI infrastructure, including Jetson T4000, Jetson  T5000, IGX T5000, and IGX T7000, offering scalable edge AI performance from compact inference to safety-critical AI workloads.

Developers and system integrators can leverage NVIDIA NIM microservices, NVIDIA Isaac foundation models and runtime libraries for robotics,  NVIDIA Metropolis models, developer tools and blueprints for vision AI, NVIDIA Halos outside-in safety for extending autonomous robot perception, and NVIDIA Holoscan for real-time sensor processing.

To further enable high-bandwidth sensor integration, the MIB Series supports NVIDIA Holoscan Sensor Bridge (HSB), enabling low-latency sensor-to-compute communication over Ethernet and deterministic data streaming directly into GPU memory. This architecture supports synchronized multi-sensor ingestion – including cameras, LiDAR, radar, and IMUs - ensuring precise time alignment and efficient sensor fusion for real-time robotic perception and decision-making.

Accelerating Time-to-Market for Autonomous Vision

By combining industrial-grade system design, validated GMSL vision, and NVIDIA Jetson Thor AI performance, Advantech continues to support the deployment of reliable, high-performance autonomous vision at the edge.

Advantech helps customers reduce integration complexity and development risk, allowing engineering teams to focus on AI models and application logic rather than low-level camera bring-up. The platform delivers reliable multi-camera vision for perception, navigation, and situational awareness, ensures low-latency image acquisition for real-time AI inference and sensor fusion, and reduces engineering effort through proven hardware and software validation. Its flexible architecture also allows scalable deployment across different system form factors. The MIB-741, MIB-742, and MIB-735 systems with validated GMSL camera support are available now.
