Application Engineer/ Field Application Engineer

Job Describtion

Provide HW and SW/product sustaining engineering support to direct sales, channel partners and customers.
 Assist business development and sales team in creating customer specific solutions. This includes (but not limited to) pre-sales and post-sales technical assessments, feasibility testing, technical response to customer bids, RMA verification and on-site technical training.
 Conduct Product testing while working with senior engineers and product management.
 Develop test plans, capture and analyze data, write technical reports.
 Work with multiple teams across different locations to lead technical discussions, and gather critical information to respond to customer SCAR / NCR / 8D Reports.
 Interface directly with customer SQE / NPI and other engineers to answer day to day questions and concerns such as providing trending data.
 Work closely with R&D, Product Management and Quality teams as necessary to resolve any technical issues that arise from the field.
 Construct hardware and software demonstration prototypes to aid sales and marketing efforts.

Working Location

 Bachelor’s degree or above in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent field is required.
 Background in project engineering / application engineering / quality engineering is preferred.
 Experience analyzing failure / RMA data for trending.
 Experience generating 8D or failure analysis reports.
 Experience in hardware design or technical support in PC or related field is preferable.
 Experience installing and solving problems related to X86 architecture systems.
 Experience in test plan/test case writing.
 Able to use a multi-meter and oscilloscope along with schematics in troubleshooting hardware/software problems.
 Familiar with the use of a soldering iron.
 Block / Board level circuit design and evaluation.
 Must possess excellent communication skills, self-starter, and a team player.
 Able to adapt to changing workloads with an emphasis on prioritizing.
 Able to cooperate and coordinate in a group setting.
 Fluent English is a must.
 Periodic travel is required.
