Advantech, a global leader in Industrial IoT, has announced its participation in Enlit Europe 2026, taking place in Vienna, Austria, from 10-12 November 2026. Enlit Europe is one of the energy sector’s leading international events, uniting utilities, system operators and technology providers dedicated to the acceleration of the digital transformation of energy systems. At Enlit Europe, Advantech will highlight the power of collaboration, demonstrating how strategic partnerships and open ecosystems are driving the digitalisation and virtualisation of energy infrastructure. Together with technology partners AI EdgeLabs, Bosch Rexroth, Grid to Great, Kalkitech / ASE and Zero Parallax, Advantech will present a broad range of CRA-ready certified computing platforms and connectivity solutions focused on software-defined automation.

Spanning substation automation and virtualisation, connectivity and cybersecurity, and battery energy storage systems (BESS) and renewables, the exhibits will show how industrial computing platforms, secure connectivity and flexible software can support the changing needs of energy infrastructure.

Live demonstrations and exhibits will illustrate how Advantech and its ecosystem partners are shaping the next generation of substation automation technologies:

  • Advantech – WebAccess: Secure Remote Management and Remote Asset Monitoring. Advantech will demonstrate its WebAccess offering for secure remote management and remote asset monitoring, alongside its hardware portfolio for energy infrastructure applications.
  • AI EdgeLabs – Grid Edge Secured by Design. AI EdgeLabs will showcase AI-native runtime security on Advantech industrial edge hardware, detecting and stopping threats directly on the device in real time. All AI inference runs locally, enabling fully offline protection for substations, renewable plants and distributed energy assets while keeping data on site.
  • Bosch Rexroth – ctrlX: Open Edge Platform for Energy Infrastructure. Advantech and ctrlX OS combine industrial edge hardware with an open, secure and scalable software platform for tomorrow’s energy infrastructure. From renewable generation and energy storage to substations and distributed energy assets, the demonstration will address the growing need for local intelligence, secure connectivity and flexible software.
  • Grid to Great – Software-Defined Substation. The software-defined substation already exists. Building on more than 20 years of experience, Grid to Great with Advantech will show how utilities can replace or upgrade sensors, servers and software independently of each other, even when the software is outdated. This approach addresses the challenge of different life cycles across grid assets.
  • Grid to Great – Experience Pack: Hassle-Free Process Bus Experience. Switch on the Experience Pack and you have a working process bus straight away. Visitors will see how the software generates up to three Sampled Values streams, merges them and adds live signals from current and voltage merging units.
  • Kalkitech / ASE – Software-Defined Substation. In collaboration with Intel, Advantech and the vPAC Alliance, Kalkitech will demonstrate virtualised protection and substation automation on Intel® Xeon® server hardware. The live demo simulates a fault, triggers an IEC 61850 GOOSE trip command and displays the alarm, with end-to-end protection performance verified using the ASE 61850 Test tool suite.
  • Zero Parallax – Continuous Health Monitoring for the Grid. Zero Parallax will show how its proprietary 180° thermal sensors and ZeroFlow sensor fusion platform give grid operators a continuous, wide-angle view of asset condition. Using real-time data, operators can make full use of existing capacity and catch faults early. Every alert is explainable: no black box, no alarm fatigue.

Paul O’Shaughnessy, Energy & Utilities Sector Head at Advantech, says: “Energy infrastructure needs secure, flexible platforms that can evolve with changing operational demands. Together with our ecosystem partners, we are bringing software-defined automation for the next generation of digital grid to life, combining industrial hardware, intelligent software and secure connectivity to support substations, renewables and energy storage.”
